WCTA students off to a great start for 2021!

West Coast Trades Academy —

Friday 12th February was a big day for our new Trades Academy students as Tai Poutini Polytechnic welcomed students from across the West Coast to begin their courses, tour the facilities and meet their tutors (not to mention indulging in a spot of kai at morning tea!)

Students enrolled on the West Coast Trades Academy programmes will study a wide range of courses, everything from Cooking to Business, Mechanical Engineering to Hair and Beauty, and so much more, and this year our Computing trades students will join their peers on site at Tai Poutini Polytechnic too.

Students entering their second year of Trades Academy at Tai Poutini Polytechnic will start their courses this week on Thursday 18th February - please be there on time to get started for another successful year! Greymouth High School students won a number of awards at the WCTA celebration evening last year and we have similarly high expectations for all of this year's cohort.

For those taking part in the residential programmes run by Whenua Iti Outdoors, please check your offer letters (emailed to you in Term 4 2020) for further details about dates, and please return your Whenua Iti Outdoors forms to Mrs Halls as soon as possible to ensure you are able to attend. As far as we know, these residential courses are still going ahead, but keep checking your emails in case we have any Covid-19 related updates.

Ngā mihi,

Whaea Kate Halls
