Important update: Returning to school on Thursday 9th September

Mrs Samantha Mortimer —

We are looking forward to welcoming your child back on Thursday 9th September. Students are to meet at 8.40 am in their mentor classroom.
Tomorrow, Wednesday 8th September, is a teacher only day and there will be no Google Meets.

Some key points to take note of:

  • Buses will run as usual
  • Students must bring a water bottle as water fountains will be turned off
  • WCTA students are to attend Trades as usual this week
  • The normal school rules for going off site apply. However, if your senior student goes into a shop they MUST socially distance and wear a mask
  • Students must bring their Chromebook and charger
  • If the school lent your child a Chromebook please ask them to bring it back to school

Key health guidelines (mentor teachers will go over these and others in mentor time)

  • Masks are recommended but not mandated. Your child needs to supply their own masks if they choose to wear one. This includes travelling on the bus
  • If your child is ill - keep them at home
  • If your child becomes ill while they are at school they need to go to the student office for assessment. We will send your child home if they have any symptoms
  • Remind your child to sneeze / cough into their elbow rather than their hands
  • All students will be asked to use hand sanitiser on entry to and exit from class; everyone must wash their hands using soap, and dry hands before leaving toilets

If you have any questions, please contact the school office or your child's mentor teacher.

Ngā mihi nui,

Samantha Mortimer
