Junior Town vs Country Rugby League

Our junior boys had a wee Town vs Country warm up game last Thursday giving them important field time prior to the Coast of Origin game against Haeata Community Campus this week.

It was a tight game with it only being 6 tries to 5, the green team slightly edging out the blue team. Some fantastic skills on show and a lot of passion on the field, is great to see our students out on the sports field again. We will look at having some more Town vs Country fixtures for our league players, keep an eye on the notices!

West Coast Secondary School Senior Boys Basketball Results

GHS hosted the Senior Boys Basketball Tournament on Tuesday at the Westland Rec Centre, we had teams from Buller HS, Westland HS and two from John Paul II all getting 4 games under their belts in the action packed day.

The competition did not disappoint with some close games across the board, players from every school leaving everything on the court. See below for the results table. 1st/2nd place was decided in the last game of the day between GHS and JPII Bishops with JPII just taking the win by 3 points.

Thank you to coaches Liam Williamson, Jack Olsen and manager Ms Truter for fantastic effort supporting our boys throughout the day.

InterHouse Events

Reminder every Friday interval AND lunchtime our student leaders are running a new series of interhouse sports in the new gym. Every time you take the court you earn house points!

Wahine Wednesday Activities

Come along to C3 at lunchtime for Wahine Wednesday YOGA, open to all female students and members of staff. These sessions will be run by Asti. Yoga is a fantastic way to relax and take away stresses of the day, also can be handy workout!

BRING: Appropriate comfortable attire and a drink bottle, mats are provided.
