Mrs Samantha Mortimer —

Tēnā koutou katoa

Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou

Welcome to Term 3, week 4. I hope that you enjoy the photo from Staff Only Day as much as me! Everyone put so much effort into their costumes and their mahi during the day learning more about our future NCEA plans.

FAME

It was amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Thank you so much to Tealy Lynch, Marty McDonald and Harriet Wise plus all of the other teachers who worked hard behind the scenes. I would also like to thank all of the community who came and played in the band - you were all awesome and I loved all of your costumes. Finally, thank you to all the rangatahi who took part and made the show so amazing! To the actors, I was blown away with your amazing talent and I really hope that you had as much as a good time performing as I did watching you!

Study Skills with Karen Boyes

Thank you to everyone who came to the study skills session on Monday night with Karen Boyes. She really knows her stuff and we hope that you got a lot out of the session. On Tuesday she spent the whole day working with our senior students and our staff and I know that everyone got something out of the day.

Transition visits to primary schools

We started our visits to our contributing primary schools this week with Coben, Karoro and Blaketown. It is a great way for us to meet whānau and our future ākonga. Thank you to Kiri Russell, Emily Westacott and Rowan Haigh for organising the visits and all of our fabulous Year 9 rangatahi for coming with and being such great representatives of Greymouth High School.

I want to add that if you know anyone who wants to come and visit us at school please ask them to contact the office and we will organise an individual visit.

Loves Me Not

A reminder that next week we are running the Loves Me Not programme with our year 12s on Tuesday and Year 13s on Wednesday.
