Trees for Change

Delaney Black —

We are Trees for Change, a regenerative social enterprise who secure contracts with organisations which fund community planting projects as well as selling native trees. We are a group of students from Greymouth High School, Westland High School and South Westland Area School who study Conservation and Earthcare through West Coast Trades Academy and Papa Taiao.

For the past two years we have been involved with a project called Trees for Mawhera, a Greymouth Rotary funded project which aims to give each student year 1-13 in the Grey district one native tree. Besides large scale contracts we also sell native trees which have been eco-sourced from the West Coast.

This year we have been taking part in the Lion Foundation Young Enterprise Scheme. So far we have won the West Coast regional competition for both Challenge 1- Validation and Challenge 2- The Pitch. We are currently working on Challenge 3 - Promotion and Sales.

If you would like to learn more or keep up to date with our enterprise please follow our Facebook: Trees for Change NZ.

If you would like to purchase native plants or sponsor a community planting project please contact us at trees4changes.nz@gmail.com.
