The Secret Kindness Project: What we do
Early last term, posters were hung up tempting everybody with the secrecy of the secret kindness project. If you vividly remember those pink papers clinging on to the wall in every hall, you’ll be aware of the project. If not, here we are in this paragraph: what do we do, why we do it, and my take on the project.
The Secret Kindness Project is hosted every Tuesday and Wednesday at first break in room nine with Ms Evans and Whaea Annie - alongside the anonymous students. Our intention is in the name, we’re a kindness project; focused on spreading kindness throughout the school to any and all. We do this by planning fun, engaging activities for the school to view and participate in. For example, last term, I’m sure if you think back hard enough you’ll remember the kindness cards you had to write one random day in class. Maybe you even received one? That was all created and managed by us.
Currently, we’re planning to do zines that intend to spread kind, thoughtful messages. They're basically mini magazines that you can display pictures, art and poems in. I in-fact made one last term for myself. It was very easy to make alongside the guidance of Mx Sommerville. Alongside visual arts, we’re also planning to make a Spotify playlist and stick the QR code around the school for you to listen to whenever you need some uplifting.
We’re actually working and planning on so many things behind the scenes through the face of teamwork. But guess what? Those plans will be remaining a secret as we are the Secret Kindness Project. If you’re intrigued and want to help spread positivity at GHS, then join us every Tuesday and Wednesday in Room 9 at interval.
Thank you,
Ava Wynd
