We celebrate the 9th year of this important exchange with Nelson College Boarders
For the 2021 edition of the Matt Gunter Memorial Exchange we will only be competing in the 1st XV Rugby fixture. Due to the disruptions of lockdown on schools it was decided that students, especially our travelling school needed to use their time wisely and be learning in class. Although we know many of our students are disappointed to not have the normal five fixture exchange we are very excited to still have this rugby game being contested.
The annual rugby game is to celebrate the amazing life of Matt who was tragically taken from his loved ones far too early. Matt was a West Coast local who attended Nelson College for his secondary schooling and played rugby for Nelson College. This memorial game is coming into its 9th year where both schools show a lot of passion in honour of Matt and his family who are always in attendance to this great spectacle.
