Football Trip to Karamea.

Rhys Anderson, Year 10. —

Three Greymouth High School teams competed in the WCSS Football event held in Karamea.

Teams met up at the David McKenzie gym at 1.00pm on Monday 4 July to have a short training before the trip. We then packed up both the vans we planned on taking on the 3 hour drive and set off. After a bit of sleeping, snacking, and especially some hardcore Taylor Swift singing, we arrived at The Last Resort, Karamea. We settled into our cabins for a debatably 8 hour sleep before the big day and woke up nice and early to get ready for the games. All three GHS teams arrived at the fields full of that Grey high spirit and warmed up. Each team had 3 pool games and 1 playoff game. The final results for Grey High were:

  • GHS Seniors 3rd

  • GHS Juniors 7th

  • GHS Girls 3rd

Well done to all the Grey High students who attended, it’s great to see our school get represented so well. It was a very wet day but we had a lot of fun.
