West Coast Regional Chess Tournament
Friday 5th of May was a big day for many West Coast students from year 7 to year 13. Greymouth High School Entered 19 students and two main teams. Congratulations to everyone that entered. GHS 1 came first and GHS 2 came second in the team rankings. Individually Students from GHS took out the top 4 places.
Congratulations to the following students:
Molly Meeks who won top overall senior chess player (year 9-13) and top senior girl.
Ethan Parsons who won second overall senior chess player.
Aaron Coutts and Hamish Gunn who won third and fourth overall senior chess player.
These four players have won an invitation to the National Competition in October.

The next regional competition is in August with an entry fee of $5. If your child is wanting to join, please email Mrs Coutts.
