Awesome performances from our teams!

Report from Sasha Ellery:

Greymouth High School had 6 girls compete in the South Island Secondary School Squash Tournament on the 24th-25th of June.

We had a Grey High A team which consisted of Grace Rhodes, Sasha Ellery and Casey Ellery. As well as the Grey High B team of, Eilish Fraser, Sophie Whittaker and Olivia Cowie. 

The Grey High A team was seeded 2nd and won their first two matches against Cashmere High B and Christchurch Girls to get into the final. 

The Grey High B team had a tough first round against top seeds Cashmere High A. They then had a close win against Villia Maria 1 to get into the playoff for 5th/6th. 

In their playoff game Grey High B played Cashmere High B and had a hard fought 2-1 loss - finishing an impressive 6th overall. The Grey High A team's final came down to the last game and finished with a close 2-1 loss - finishing 2nd overall for the tournament. 

The two teams now combine into one and continue their training for the upcoming New Zealand Secondary Schools in Auckland.
