Welcome to Term 3, week 4

TRANSITION TO HIGH SCHOOL

Open Evening

Thank you to everyone who came to our Open Evening. We had over 160 people there which was fantastic!
If you know anyone who couldn’t make it and would like a tour or visit please contact our office.

Primary School visits

We have started our primary school visits so we can meet our future rangatahi in their current school. Myself, Rowan Haigh (DP in charge of transition), Kiri Russell (Kaitakawaenga - family liaison) and Donna Ellis (our Learning Support Co-ordinator) are going to every school, where possible, joined by students who previously attended the school.

West Coast Chess Tournament held at Grey High

I was fortunate enough to be asked to give out the prizes for our most recent Chess tournament. I was very impressed with the standard of the teams and obviously very happy that we won! Su Coutts is taking a GHS team to the national tournament in Auckland later this year and we are very excited to be part of that!

Tournament Week

We are getting ready for Tournament Week (in week 7) and very excited to send lots of teams away. I am hoping to go and see the basketball and rugby in Nelson. It’s an amazing opportunity for our students to play against other teams from around the country.

Term 3 and the weather

Please encourage your children to wear the correct uniform - no non-school sweatshirts and no crocs. If you need any support with school uniform please flick me an email (mortimers@greyhigh.school.nz) or phone the school office and we will do our best to support you and your child.

As always, if you have any questions or queries please contact me.
