On Sunday 14 August, the Atarau Sanctuary (also known as the 'Kiwi Creche') held a working bee/planting day. A group of Greymouth High School students met early on Sunday morning at Greymouth High School to travel out to the Moonlight area and help plant over 300 trees at the sanctuary. We were lucky to have a beautiful, stunning day in which to plant, and were rewarded by a sausage sizzle for lunch. It was a fantastic day and a good experience for all of us in giving back and trying to help the kiwi community. Well done to all the students who came on the day, we all seemed to enjoy ourselves.
