Visiting Speaker: Professor Sally Brooker.

John De Goldi: Rapuara-Career Pathways Education. —

Professor Sally Brooker, Inaugural Sesquicentennial Distinguished Chair, Department of Chemistry, Otago University.

Professor Brooker visited GHS and spoke to our Year 12 Physics class and other interested students about her career pathway from being a student at a small rural South Island Secondary School to becoming a University Professor and co-leader of an International Research Group.

Professor Brooker also spoke about her work in the research, development and use of hydrogen as a zero-emission fuel and the career pathways available to students with an interest in science.

Professor Brooker is very keen to return to GHS to talk with more of our students and also to the wider community particularly about developments in the use of hydrogen as a fuel and the opportunities for the West Coast to be part of this.

If you are interested in Professor Brooker coming to talk with groups you are part of please contact: John De Goldi at degoldij@greyhigh.school.nz
