On Air Workshop

12 - 15 July 2021 at Madras Street Campus

This is a 4 day holiday workshop aimed at Year 13 secondary school students who are interested in studying with the New Zealand Broadcasting School. They spend 4 days with us and we give them a hands on taste of life as a Journalist, Radio Star or a hotshot movie director.

  • Cost is $500 for the 4 days - this can be self funded or schools can fund Yr3 students.
  • Travel and accommodation are at your own arrangement.
  • Places are limited so registrations via Ara Engagement are necessary and fee payment secures your spot.
  • Course includes one day Journalism, two days Screen Production and one day Radio. No credits are applicable for this course.

An Audience with METRONEWS

  • 31 May – 4 June 2021
  • 3.30pm – 5pm daily
  • 8 spaces only each day
  • Yr 12 – 13 students

Each year our Journalism and Screen Production students collaborate to produce a real-life news programme which we broadcast each afternoon in METRONEWS week. The reason why spaces are so limited is you get to sit in the control room above the main studio and watch how a live TV broadcast is produced. It’s interesting and exhilarating for all concerned. Register here quick with the Ara Engagement team for one of these limited spaces.
