Old School

Jacki Harrison —

Today the Teina children had a taste of school in the 'olden days'. As we learn about technology and its impact on our lives it was important to take a trip back to before technology played a role in our school lives. The children experienced writing on chalkboards, using ink and quills, making butter, playing old-fashioned games, and following very old-fashioned rules. I was quite surprised to see how strict our teachers can be, and I think the children got a bit of a shock when they had to line up for an inspection before they came into class but I know they all enjoyed it very much.

Last week our children were visited by a robot, to get them thinking about technology and the way it is changing our lifestyles. The robot told them some classic robot jokes, that I hope they shared with you.

Teacher School

As well as all the learning the children have been doing our Teina teachers have been busy too. Yesterday was a day of maths modeling and then a staff meeting to learn more about our Numicon programme. We have been introducing this programme this year and will continue to build on it next year.
