Welcome Back Teina Whānau!

Hayley Brass —

A very warm welcome to our amazing children in the Teina Whānau. It is so lovely to see our big Year 4 children stepping up to be role models to our new Year 3's. We have had a great first week back meeting our new classmates and getting to know each other, learning how to work together, taking part in problem solving activities, and having fun with our friends.

Northern Arena Swimming Lessons
Next week your child will bring home a notice about our swimming lessons at Northern Arena. There will also be a form for you to fill in about your child's swimming ability. These lessons will be taking place in weeks 9 and 10. It is a fabulous opportunity for your child and we are really looking forward to it.

A Few Reminders:

Stationery
Please continue to bring in your child's stationery as soon as possible. There are lots of children that are missing parts of their stationery, please make sure you have sent everything from the list below.

Hats
Well done to most children for coming to school on the very first day with their blue bucket hat. There are still a few children without a correct hat. Please note a cap is not sufficient.

Independence Before and After School
It has been lovely to meet lots of you this week and we enjoyed seeing many during our open classroom on Tuesday. A big part of being in the Teina Whānau is about increasing independence, and we like to encourage parents and caregivers to drop off and pick up their child from somewhere other than the classroom. It would be great if you could make a plan with your child over the weekend for a drop off and pick up spot.
