As you know across at GHS we are adopting a Structured Literacy approach to teaching Reading. This is well underway in the Juniors and in Year 3-6 we are currently undergoing a number of changes in our programmes including the way we teach and assess our students. Our priority is using the latest evidence-based strategies to teach reading so that every child can achieve success.

We have also been working to align our Stepsweb resource with our classroom programmes. Your child will be assigned work each week that allows them to practice the sounds they have been working on in class. This repetition is exactly what our students need to embed their learning.
