Kia ora Tuakana Whānau,

What a fantastic start to the year we’ve had! The Tuakana students have settled in well, and it’s been great to see them getting to know each other, building class culture, and diving into their learning programs. A reminder that correct uniform is expected each day. This includes plain black shoes, tidy hair (tied back if it reaches the shoulders), and bucket hats in Terms 1 and 4. We appreciate your support in ensuring our students take pride in their appearance and represent the Tuakana team well.

Learning and Fun!

This week, we kicked off our specialist subjects, and they have been a huge success! A reminder that all Tuakana students require a PE uniform, and they should be able to tell you which day their PE class is on. If you’re still sorting a uniform, in the meantime, appropriate sports clothing is fine.

This week, we also made the most of the sunshine with some waterslide fun at lunchtime! It was wonderful to see so many Tuakana students laughing, sliding, and cooling off. These moments are what make school extra special!

Lastly, a quick note that homework will begin next week and will be posted on Hero. Keep an eye out for this, and please encourage your child to manage their time well. A huge thank you for your ongoing support—we truly value the partnership we have with our Tuakana whānau. If you have any questions or need anything, don’t hesitate to reach out.
