GHS Lantern Festival & Cultural Celebration

We are excited to begin our year celebrating Chinese New Year with a lantern festival and celebration of all cultures at Gulf Harbour School.

Weber BBQ - to fry dumplings we require a couple of BBQs. If you have one you could lend for the evening, please contact Ruth Trevathan r.trevathan@ghs.school.nz
Making food or sponsorship - We so far have a BBQ, Ice Cream truck, Chinese, Turkish and South African food on offer. If you would like to contribute food for this event or sponsor a stall, please answer the attached SURVEY by this Friday 7th.
FESTIVAL DETAILS
When: Wednesday 12 February 5 - 7pm
Where: Gulf Harbour School, Spider net field (outside the double block)
What to Wear: Wear cultural dress or something that represents your culture
What to Bring: Food for a picnic, cash to purchase food & lanterns
Food: There will be some food and drink available to purchase from stalls.
Pre Ordering Pizza: Don't have time to make a picnic? Pizza Hut cheese pizza can be preordered through Kindo NOW. Whole pizza only - $12. Cut off for ordering is Monday 10th Feb 9am. Pick up on the night from Room 29 at 5:30pm.
Lanterns: We have some beautiful lanterns to purchase. These require adult assistance with assembly. Staff will be on hand to help you create these.
Colouring Competition: Colouring competition for the Year of the Snake are available tomorrow from class teachers for Gulf Harbour School students. Entries are due to Room 28 (end new classroom) by Monday 10 February 3pm. Winners will be announced during the evening of the 12th.
CASH ONLY: Most stalls will be cash only. Please bring cash.
