Math-a thon and the Museum!
A fantastic few weeks celebrating our wonderful team of mathematicians and preparing for our trip the Auckland Museum next week.
Math-a thon!
Thank you so much for all your support during last week's Math-a thon! The children were so excited to see all the motivation and encouragement from their whānau and our wider School Community.
A huge thank you also to Mrs Vrettos for organising the learning opportunities for the Purapura whānau!
Take a look to see what we got up to!
Auckland Museum Trip!
We are so excited about our trip next week.
Here are a few notes to help this trip run smoothly.
1/Please ensure your child is in their classroom by 8.30am promptly. We will be leaving at 8.45am and will not be able to wait for latecomers.
2/Please pack an allergy friendly lunch in the smallest lunch bag you can (i.e. no nuts, peanut butter) and please NO yoghurt. There is limited space at the museum to store bags.
3/Please pack a small fruit/veg snack to eat before we get on the bus
4/Your child MUST be in their full school uniform
5/If you have been selected as a parent helper, you will have received a notice from your class teacher will all the details you need. We cannot accept any more adult help do to health and safety regulations.
Info for Parent Helpers:
Parent Helpers going on the bus: Please meet outside Room 9 at 8.15am for a safety briefing.
Parent Helpers meeting us at the museum: Please meet us at 9.45am in the South Atrium (By the T-Rex Skeleton)
If circumstances have changed and you cannot help on the day for any reason, please contact your child's classroom teachers ASAP as we have adult-to-child ratios we must meet in order the trip to go ahead.
I think this covers everything, but please keep an eye on Hero for any further updates/changes if needed.
We appreciate all your support in ensuring this is a successful trip.
A few things we need your help with:
Healthy Lunchbox Reminder:
We have noticed that chocolate and lollies have started to appear in lunchboxes across the team. Please note, these items are NOT permitted at Gulf Harbour School under any circumstance.
We are grateful for your support in this matter as we all know the impact that a healthy lunchbox has on the wellbeing of our tamariki.
School Uniform Reminder:
Shoes need to be completely black. Socks need to be black or dark blue. Long sleeves and any layers under uniform need to be black or dark blue. If you have any issues with uniform items (or if items are in the wash/wet etc), please let your class teacher know - then I am able to keep track if duty teachers ask about non-uniform items.
Hair:
If hair is shoulder length, it needs to be all tied up. This is for both boys and girls. Please no half up/half down hairstyles. Hair ties/clips need to be black, dark blue or neutral colours please.
Book bags and readers Reminder:
Can these please come to school every day - We cannot send any new readers home unless the child has their book bag and has returned the previous reading book.
