Welcome to Term 2!
This term we have launched out on a voyage of discovery! Our tamariki have been exploring wonderful pūrākau and getting to know some cheeky characters in Māori history.
Mischievous Māui!
This week, the Purapura whānau shared the pūrākau (story) of how Māui fished up the North Island of Aotearoa. They were inspired to retell the story and explore the importance of oral storytelling in history.
We've had a fantastic time using visual art, digital technology, writing, reading and drama to discover this story and it's place in the culture of Aotearoa New Zealand.
