Welcome back to a brand-new school year!
We hope you had a fantastic holiday break and are ready for another exciting year of learning and growth. Over the holidays, we have been hard at work making several significant improvements to our school environment, ensuring a better learning environment for all our tamariki. Here’s what’s new:
A New Look Library
We are thrilled to introduce our newly designed library, a modern and inviting space designed to inspire a love of reading. With comfortable seating, new lighting, shelving and completely redecorated, our children now have a cool place to explore and expand their knowledge.
Renovated Tuakana (senior) Classrooms
All eight Tuakana classrooms have been completely renovated, providing a fresh, modern learning environment. These updates include new furniture and freshly decorated walls including new autex. These classrooms now look warm and inviting.
New Bathrooms
We have fully upgraded the bathrooms in the Room 7-10 and Room 11-14 blocks. These newly renovated facilities are now more spacious, hygienic, and accessible for our students.
New Car Park Signage
We have installed new signage in our front and back car parks. We can now keep you up to date with school events via our back car park entrance sign.
We are incredibly proud of these enhancements and look forward to seeing our tamariki benefit from them. Thank you for your continued support in making our school a wonderful place for learning. This support may be in the form of paying your school donation or donating your time or money when we hold fundraising and community events. Without this support we are unable to upgrade our school environment and resources.
WELCOME TO SOME NEW FACES
We are really excited to welcome lots of new tamariki to our school this term. We have children that have just turned 5 years old and have joined us as new entrants; and children that have moved to GHS from local schools and from further down the line, along with children from overseas - as far away as the UK, France, China, Japan and Korea.
At this time of year we also welcome Katherine Kruger (Year 6 Teacher), Elisha Russell (Year 5 Teacher) and Sam Munnik (Year 3 Teacher) to GHS. We also welcome Luke Wesbonk (Media & Arts Specialist Teacher), Kesten Cochrane (Teacher Aide) and welcome Hayley Brass back for 2 days a week after her maternity leave. We are over the moon to have you all join the GHS whanau.
