Only possible with the support received from the Whangaparaoa Rotary Club
There was no defibrillator available to the Gulf Harbour residential community
24/7. The closest one available was inside the Gulf Harbour Country Club and
not available 24/7. Tragically the clubhouse was burnt to the ground in May
2024 leaving the residential community with no convenient defibrillator.
The Rotary Club of Whangaparaoa was approached by the Gulf Harbour School
looking for support to install a defibrillator that could be used for all the
community and available 24/7. The Rotary Club had no hesitation in agreeing
to assist with financial support.
With this substantial support the school set about to purchase the defibrillator,
the outside weatherproof 24/7 access storage cabinet and signage and had it
installed.
On the 6 th March the Whangaparaoa Rotary Club formally handed over the
completed project. It is mounted on the entrance wall to the school office
available to all the community 24/7.
The school extended their thanks for the substantial support the
Whangaparaoa Rotary Club had provided for making this facility available.
Rotary is one of the biggest service organisations in the world. Now is the time
when the world really does need Rotary. We work in the local community
especially with Youth and unfortunately with mental health and the disabled.
We are there to provide assistance in times of disasters and emergencies both
local and internationally. Did you know about Rotary and especially
Whangaparaoa Rotary? Look for more about Rotary online or better still come
and meet with us at the RSA on Vipond Road, Stanmore Bay on the 1st and 3rd
Thursdays at 6pm for a meal followed by a short meeting and then a high class
speaker. We need YOU to join us and keep the work of Rotary going.
