On the 27th of June, a team of Hagley students competed in the annual Year 11 Casio Calculator Competition. The competition was organised by the Canterbury Mathematical Association, and held in the Hagley College Cafe.
Our team, consisting of Liadan Dickie, Keke Mote, Charlotte James and Michael Pascoe, competed with 17 other teams from across Canterbury. This was the first time a Hagley team had taken part in this competition.
The competition was tough, but our students showed great maturity and resilience throughout all four rounds and finished in 9th place, gaining 115/140 points. It was a great experience for them and they enjoyed it immensely. Their behaviour was exemplary and they all represented Hagley in a very positive manner.
