Welcome to Beda Mishra

The Learning Communities Team —

Welcome to Beda Mishra, our new Bilingual Liaison Worker at Hagley College this term. Beda is a refugee from Bhutan, and arrived in Christchurch in 2008 with his lovely family.

Beda has a strong background in computers and technology. He is committed to transferring his skills and knowledge to the community here in New Zealand as his new home country now. Beda supports adults to learn how to use computers and the internet at Burnside Primary School every Thursday. The students love him so much for his dedication and passions towards the class and the community. Beda often goes to Bhutanese families across Christchurch to help them and their children at school. Every Tuesday and Wednesday evening, he is available at the Homework Centre at Hagley College to help children from the Bhutanese community communicate with their teachers about their homework and learning new things.

Besides working, Beda is also passionate about soccer. He is an active player on the Bhutanese team in Christchurch. Welcome Beda to Hagley!
