Caroline Hewitt, 3 June 1961 - 13 July 2016

Judy Philips —

Earlier this year Hagley lost a wonderful staff member after Caroline sadly lost her battle with cancer.

On 20 July during the Term 2 holidays the College was closed when the Principal, Mike Fowler, and staff attended Caroline’s funeral.

An employee of Hagley since 2004, Caroline was a vital member of the Finance Team holding responsibility for mentoring and training of participants in our Commerce Graduate Programme, debtor invoicing, and weekly accounts payable through to transfer to bank, and monthly reporting to the Preschool Management Committee of preschool results.

Caroline gained satisfaction from following through to a successful end result. She also displayed an outstanding work ethic, often working on in her own time to complete a task or when the system crashed (which it did a lot during 2015!) which required her to repeat multiple transfers to the bank in order for suppliers to be paid on time.

Caroline was a popular, well-liked and respected member of the Hagley community, with a fun sense of humour and appreciation of, and interest in, the people in her work community. Staff found her pleasant, helpful and easy to conduct business with.

The Finance Department was a happy place with Caroline in it and the loss is keenly felt.
