Hagley Redevelopment

Andy Gorton —

So much has changed at Hagley in the last few months ! The college has started and almost completed our new Early Childhood Centre going from an empty piece of land:

to a fantastic new resource in just over 3 months !

Once the landscaping is complete and a few areas tidied up we should be all set to open – hopefully in early July.

There are two larger scale new buildings in this stage of the main college redevelopment process - Wainuku and Auripo. The ground work for Auripo is already underway -27th April 2021

3rd June 2021

The steel framing due to start in August 2021 and the internal fitout of this building starting in late December 2021.

The current timeline for Auripo shows the building being ready for setup by the College in late 2022 and hopefully open for the start of term 1 2023.

Wainuku is yet to be started but this building is a more simple single storey design and it is currently planned that it should hopefully also be open for the start of term 1 2023.

There are lots of improvements to be carried out to most of the College’s buildings (that are planned to remain at the end of the redevelopment process) but the timeline for this has not yet been announced by the MOE.
