Secondary Schools Road Race Championship

Molly McLaren —

On Thursday the 8th May, Noah Fenwick, a Year 13 Hagley student competed in the Christchurch Secondary Schools Road Race Championships at the A&P Showgrounds.

Schools from all regions of Canterbury came along, bringing their best runners to compete. Noah was racing in the senior boys’ competition, which was a grueling 4km route around the showgrounds on a concrete path.

Noah was pumped up and ready to race after a few weeks off his usual training schedule. He set off with a goal of making it over the finish line within the first 30 runners of the senior boys’ race. Noah pushed himself hard throughout the race and stayed in the top section of runners. He achieved his goal, finishing at a brilliant 29th place. Well done, Noah.
