Lisa Amer - Junior College Enrolments and Administration

Lisa has grown up in Christchurch and enjoys living near the beach with her partner. Lisa has a BA in English and Japanese but decided that her real interest lay in working as an administrator in a kura. After her degree, Lisa decided to complete a Certificate in Business Administration at Christchurch Polytechnic (ARA) to enable her to secure a position in administration in a kura. Lisa tells me she applied for 4 positions and was successful in winning the Hagley position, and has now been here for 6 years. Lisa is responsible for the process of enrolling all junior rangatahi and has streamlined this process to make it as friendly as possible for all rangatahi starting at Hagley. Lisa loves her work and looks forward to coming to work because of the variety it offers, the atmosphere and, most importantly, her interactions with ākonga. Lisa also does lots of other administrative tasks; her work is always of a high standard and she is exceptional when it comes to attending to detail.

Lisa is a home owner and she is a great support to her mother who lives close by. Lisa and her partner enjoy holidaying in NZ and Lisa gets to do most of the driving on these trips because she loves driving. They recently did a big North Island tour and her next plan is to tour the South Island. Lisa enjoys her kittens and relaxing after a good day at work. The College really appreciates Lisa’s commitment, perseverance and, of course, her great smile and wonderful manner when dealing with ākonga and whānau.
