The Hagley Dance department is buzzing after Hagley Dance Company graduate Anu Khapung and Footnote New Zealand Dance Artistic Liaison Anita Hunziker inspired Hagley Dance students on Tuesday 21st August with an invigorating workshop based around their touring show, “Balancing Point”.

Anu danced with gorgeous grace and vigor at the Aurora Centre on Wednesday, 22nd August. Both the workshop and show motivated Hagley Dance students in preparation for their upcoming performances for Hagley’s annual NCEA Dance Showcase (23rd-25th October) and Hagley Dance Company's graduation shows (Friday 30th November and Saturday 1st December).

Anu kick-started her contemporary dance career with Hagley Dance Company in 2013, before continuing her training at Unitec. She started with Footnote New Zealand Dance Company in 2017. She is interested in pushing the physical boundaries of the art form with her distinctive physicality, and integrating multiple dance genres into her practice.
