Hagley College Rebuild gets underway in 2020

Andy Gorton —

As students return to Hagley in the new year, they will notice some significant changes.

The Hagley College Rebuild will begin with demolition of some buildings over the Christmas break and early in Term 1. Much of the Hagley Ave school frontage will be cordoned off and inaccessible, although the grassed area and basketball court will still be available for student use.

In addition, some of our students and staff will be located at our new satellite campus on Champion St during the rebuild. This includes some adult English Language Learners, the Hagley Theatre Company, and the Hagley Adult Literacy Centre.

Where will the new student drop-off point be located?

For students who get dropped off at Hagley, we will be creating a turning circle in the Stewart St carpark. The rear carpark off Waller Tce will be exclusively used by staff of the College.

Where will visitor car-parking be located ?

We will reserve 3-4 parking spots in the Stewart St carpark for visitors to the College.

Student parking:

Students have been informed that there will be no parking on site at Hagley College in 2020. We are encouraging everyone to use alternatives to driving to Hagley, like taking the bus, biking, skateboarding, scootering, or car-pooling and getting dropped off.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused. However, we are greatly looking forward to the start of this exciting new phase in the redevelopment of Hagley College.
