'Do The Duke' Kete Wana

Nathan Walsh —

Year 9 & 10 students from the 'Do The Duke' Kete Wana option have been working hard by volunteering their time in the community as part of their work towards the Duke of Edinburgh award.

Every Friday the class completes volunteer service learning at City Harvest Food Bank, the Botanic Gardens or Ronald McDonald House. From planting daffodils to packaging food into boxes to be distributed to people throughout the city, the opportunity to help others has been particularly valuable for all of us. When not volunteering, students are working hard to improve their physical fitness or learn a new skill, and they will finish the year with an overnight camp to complete the Duke of Edinburgh award.
