Covid in Christchurch – not the news we wanted to wake up to on Thursday! With two cases in our Ōtautahi community, we want to reassure our students and school community and to remind them of the things we can be doing to keep ourselves safe.

We acknowledge Te Ngāi Tūāhuriri as holding mana whenua over the land of this rohe. We appreciate and honour our partnership with Ngāi Tahu, Ngāi Tūāhuriri and Mātauraka Mahaanui in developing and celebrating our bicultural narrative at Te Puna Wai o Waipapa. Most years we would have been letting you know of our summer Catch Up College details and the other tertiary pathway options that Hagley offers. This year, Covid-19 and alert level restrictions have complicated things.

2021 has been a huge year for Te Waipapa o te Ao Tawhiti - the Hagley/Ao Tawhiti Kapa Haka.

Many students might be feeling a bit anxious about their NCEA assessment results this year because of the interruption to their face-to-face learning programmes through the COVID lockdown. However, there are significant ways that teachers are working with NZQA to minimise the effect that a loss of face-to-face learning time will have on outcomes and results for students.

Dual Enrolment programmes are a great way to earn credits and get a feel for tertiary study whilst being at school.
