Paddy Grant returned to his old school, 46 years after first attending Hagley in 1974. There’s nothing unusual about someone returning to their old high school, except this return was a bit different because of the significant place Paddy holds in our school’s history: Paddy was Hagley’s first adult student.

While we were in lockdown, we surveyed our parents and caregivers, students and staff. We’ve looked really carefully at the information and used it to help inform the right steps to take in returning to onsite operations at school, as well as to improve our approaches to wellbeing, teaching and learning going forward.

Great sighs of relief from students and staff were heard as we returned to face-to-face learning on Monday 18 May.
