Hail Tips & Tricks: Quick-links
Quick-links are a handy way to highlight specific content on your Hail Homepage, Newsletters, Blogs, Yearbooks and Articles. You can add quick-links to Hail articles, publications and any external websites or pages.
Inspired by your feedback
We've heard from many of you that you'd like a way to create a list of the most important content and links and have it displayed prominently across all pages on your site. So starting today that's exactly what you can do with the new quick-links feature. Plus, we've now expanded quick-links to newsletters, blogs, yearbooks and shared articles.
Quick-links tips and tricks
- Only organisation Owners, Admins and Publishers can create and edit quick-links.
- Quick-links will only be visible to the public if they have been associated with a Hail article/publication or external link AND selected to display somewhere such as the Homepage or Newsletters.
- Quick-links should be limited to a handful and kept very short, to one or two words, in order to ensure there's enough room for all to display at smaller screen sizes.
- On mobile phones, quick-links display at the top of the open menu.
- Simply drag and drop the quick-links in the list to order them.
- Quick-links can also be used to highlight important temporary notices, eg. ***SNOW DAY — School Closed***
- In order to provide your community with easy access to contact details, the new Homepage menu bar also includes your main phone number and email address when viewed on laptop and desktop screens.
Quick-links available now
Starting today you'll find the new quick-links feature linked in the sidebars of your Homepage, Publication and Article edit screens. Just reload Hail in your browser and follow the link to a list of example quick-links, which you are free to edit and include, or simply add your own.
We hope you enjoy this latest enhancement. If you need help with this feature or anything else, just get in touch with our friendly team.
