Why use Hail?

Stuart Dillon-Roberts —

Who better to ask than our customers! So we interviewed Daniel Wilson from Nayland College all about their use Hail and how it's being received.

What do you use Hail for?

We use Hail predominantly for creating our weekly eNewletter to keep our parents and our wider school community informed about the latest Nayland College news, student and school successes and also up to date information regarding events.

We use Hail to create individual articles which our staff can easily create and contribute to. Once edited and approved, we then push these out to all our communication platforms, like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and our website.

What have been the advantages of using Hail at your school?

Where to start?! Hail is very intuitive and easy to learn, so this means it is not a big ask to get staff to contribute the 'bones' of articles including quickly uploading photos from events across the schools learning areas.

The creation of publications like the newsletter have become far more collaborative, and so efficient, that an eNewletter can be created and sent out to our parents each week.

Pushing out the newsletter or individual articles is incredibly easy, once set up, it's just a matter of clicking a button and it's done.

We are engaging our parents, student, alumni and local community much more effectively by using platforms that they all checking on a regular basis. The reach of our communications is further, more regular, more consistent and more thorough.

Another aspect is the fluidity of the communication. Changes can be made so that realtime updates (when information changes or heaven forbid, was entered in error) can be easily corrected.

What does your school community think about Hail?

We have received nothing but positive feedback from individuals and our measurable engagement through social networks has improved dramatically.

The more regular contact with our communities means that we are front of mind and retaining more control over our image and impact locally and nationally.
