We are thrilled to introduce Hail Assist.

Hail Assist has been developed to help you.  It serves to support you with editing and creating content in Hail.  It is a feature that uses Artificial Intelligence (AI).   We are continuously watching how AI is developing and how this service can benefit our customers.  

To underpin how we develop Hail Assist and to guide you on how you use Hail Assist, please read our Responsible AI guidance below, which are guidelines we have developed to outline how to use Hail Assist and to be transparent on how the service works.  

We have also defined a Policy on Hail Assist - this is also attached (in PDF). This includes our ethical guidelines on how we will apply and develop Hail Assist.

Responsible AI Guidance

Please take time to read through this guide.

• Hail Assist is our AI service. We believe it will support you in the content creation process.   

• But, you can choose not to use AI by opting out of Hail Assist.  In the settings menu, you can choose to 'opt out' of Hail Assist.  This needs to be completed by your organisation owner or admin and once turned off, no one in your organisation will be able to use Hail Assist.   

• We would welcome your feedback if you do decide to turn off Hail Assist as this will help us make the service better.  Please contact support@hail.to
  
  

You are in Control of your Content 

• Hail Assist can help you by rewriting and creating content in Hail.  It can re-write your content whenever the formatting bar is presented,  including writing a new website introduction or re-writing an article you have written previously.   Hail Assist can also write new content like a Notice or Article for you.  

• We are confident that you find Hail Assistant a great service to help you, save you time and make your content stand out.  But please remember that Hail Assist is an assistant and we encourage that you check all content that Hail Assist produces before publishing.  

• You are in control and whilst every user account (Contributor to Owner) will have access to Hail Assist we do not shortcut the process in Hail for reviewing and editing content.  Remember that once published you can still change content in Hail, an extra layer of protection for you.  

• We use third party software to provide the AI service. We do put in extra layers to protect you but we need to remember, never share personal, sensitive, or confidential information.  
  
  

Styles and Languages 

• Hail Assist will also offer different styles of writing and language choices. 

• Styles of writing allow you to choose how the message will appear to your readers. Give the different styles a go and if you are unsure what style to choose or want a new style added let us know.

• The language translation we have added is to help you translate a section of your article or write your content in a different language.  The translation is completed by the AI bot (not Google Translate).  We do recommend you check the translation before publishing.
