Hail Adds Creative Commons Licenses
Now you can license your content in Hail with Creative Commons.
What is Creative Commons?
Creative Commons licenses provide a flexible range of protections and freedoms for authors, artists, and educators.
How can I license my work?
There is no registration to use the Creative Commons licenses.
Licensing a work is as simple as selecting which of the six licenses best meets your goals, and then marking your work so that others know that you have chosen to release the work under the terms of that license.
Choose a license here and then select that option in Hail's settings screen. Now the default © Copyright statement at the bottom of all your Hail published content will be replaced with your license of choice.
Hail's Creative Commons license
You'll see in the footer below that we've adopted the Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license. Which means that:
You are free to:
- Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format
- Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially.
Under the following terms:
Attribution — You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.
ShareAlike — If you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you must distribute your contributions under the same license as the original.
