At Hail, we love constantly bringing you new features, but it’s just as important to keep the current ones up to date, looking fresh and more user-friendly. So recently we've been revising the publication styles and the first one to be renewed is the Newsletter.

What’s new about it?

If it isn't obvious, the whole newsletter has been dragged into Hail Labs and overhauled from top to bottom. In one huge update, we've made everyone's favourite publication style brand spanking new with the following main upgrades:

• Stronger branding — The Newsletter style now incorporates the Brand Colour from your Hail Settings to provide a more customised and vibrant look.
• Better use of space — At larger screen sizes there’s now a four column layout to present more article previews in the same area. Also, when reading an article we’re now able to keep the tags and search block on the left for easy browsing throughout.
• Fewer clicks — This was one of the biggest issues we wanted to address in this new design. Currently, when someone is finished reading an article they have to click into the next one at the bottom or click back to the article previews and click into another. And so on and so on… clicking, clicking and more clicking. But Hail Newsletter 2.0 has seamless scrolling from one article to the next, so it’s now effortless for your readers to flow through the whole publication.
• Quick-links — Last month we introduced Quick-links, which have been a huge hit with practically all of our Hail Homepage customers making great use of them. Now you can add quick-links to the top of the Newsletter also! And better yet, the Newsletter can share quick-links with the Homepage and/or have its own set.
• Faster loading — Our incredible engineers have rebuilt the Newsletter from the ground up to be slicker and smarter. That, combined with the latest updates to Hail's core codebase, has resulted in much faster load times.
• Tags for Mobiles & Search — Readers can now also browse the tags on mobile devices and we've added an incredible search function that will display results not just from headlines and article content, but also by author and associated tags. Even cooler, you can now link readers directly to a specific tag or search result within a newsletter. For example, check out 'social media' articles from this newsletter or search for 'facebook'.

Plus dozens and dozens of other fixes and improvements throughout!

When can I get it?!

The Newsletter 2.0 design will replace the current style this Thursday. From that day all your existing and future newsletters will be automatically upgraded. There’s nothing you need to do to take advantage of the latest design.

If you’re keen to stick with the current newsletter design just get in touch and we’ll exclude you from the update. However, be aware that the latest features such as quick-links, seamless scrolling and search all require the new 2.0 version.
