An outline of the seniors' day sailing by Summer

On the 23rd of February Year 7&8 students of Halfmoon Bay School went sailing with a guy called Simon from Yachting NZ.  We went from one of the beaches in Halfmoon Bay  and sailed to three other beaches in the area.  Simon taught us how to set up the little sail boats called optimists. We played games and we even got towed by Simon's  boat.  In the afternoon it got a bit windy and we flew across the water like a bird.  Simon brought the optimists over in a big trailer on the freight boat.  It was a great experience and it was quite cool just to sail around in Halfmoon Bay.
