Ackers Class
Term 3 was made up of three parts!
Before Lockdown our class numbers grew to fourteen with the arrival of our newest five-year-old from Rugrats. Our Year 3s began their transition to Rakeahua and joined Miss Joy on Fridays and some afternoons. Gadget and Mawson popped in for a visit and showed us how they track the scent of rats. Numicon, Reading, Writing, PMP, Bush School all started but then they just stopped at school after three and a half weeks because of Lockdown.
During Lockdown we had our learning at home and online. The Google Classroom was fun and our highlight was seeing friends and sharing news. We also liked that we could choose our work and when we did it. The treasure hunt was awesome at Mill Creek. Whanau fun times at home, the beach, on walks and bike rides were also great memories.
After Lockdown we quickly got into our school routines and made the most of being back with friends. Friday Art with Bevan, KiwiCan and afternoon activities in the hall, at the beach and at Bush School all resumed and we made the most of all learning opportunities. Speeches and Poems were all shared successfully. Kai pai tamariki on another super term of learning.
