This term Room 1 and Room 4 have been working on their Social Science Fair projects

Our project topics were all very different but most of the projects have something to do with Stewart Island they vary from:

• Why are Stewart Island streets named after Scottish towns?

• The history of schooling around Stewart Island

• Hannah Morgan's swim across Foveaux Strait

For some of the little kids, it was their first time doing the projects although I’m not 100% sure they liked it that much!

This year was very different from other years as we also had Cross Country to worry about so we would often have to work at break times or as homework to get our work done.

Once our projects were finished the Years 5-8 went to Invercargill and went to the Working Men's Club and got to have a look at all the other school's projects.

The following received prizes:

Zac = Biography Merit AND Year 7-8 Merit

Molly = Biography Merit

Aoife = Sports Merit

Moby = South of the Mainland Winner

Bree = South of the Mainland Merit

Tai = Year 7-8 Merit
