Tēnā koutou e te whānau

We've had a busy but rewarding start to Term 3. One of the highlights was undoubtedly last week's Learning Conferences. It was great to see so many parents take the opportunity to meet with T group teachers to discuss their child(ren)'s progress and achievement. We were very impressed with how well our students could articulate their learning and identify next steps. This is an excellent example of manawanuitangi (being your best self) in action.

On a less positive note, you may have noticed that the no right-turn sign at the intersections of Larsens and Halswelll Roads has not been working this term during drop-off and pick-up times. The Christchurch City Council is responsible for turning the sign off during holidays and turning it back on at the start of each term. We have contacted the Council on multiple occasions in an attempt to get the issue rectified. This has been frustrating, but we have just been informed that a new contractor has taken over the task of monitoring the sign, and they are currently working towards getting it reactivated. We hope to have it back working soon. Thank you to our parents, who have continued to turn left at this intersection. It makes a massive difference to how well the traffic flows before and after school.

Finally, I would like to thank our wonderful PTA for all their efforts organising the Beats By Bingo event on Saturday night. It promises to be a fun-filled evening and a fantastic way of bringing our community together. Thank you also to everyone who has supported the fundraiser through sponsorship or by buying and selling raffle tickets.

I look forward to seeing you there on Saturday night.
