On Tuesday 29 July the Year 7/8 girls and boys and Year 5/6 boys Halswell basketball teams participated in the zone basketball tournament at Prebbleton School.

Year 5/6 Boys

This team showed a lot of skill and pace in their games and they were very unlucky not to qualify for the Canterbury Indoor Tournament. They had two good wins against Ararira Springs and Little River but lost narrowly 14 - 10 against Prebbleton.

Year 7/8 Girls

This team performed very well winning all their games and it was great to see their teamwork develop as the tournament progressed. They had wins against Lincoln, Prebbleton and Little River with the closest margin being 10 points.

Year 7/8 Boys

This team also won all of their games against Little River, Prebbleton and Lincoln. They had a close final game against Lincoln but managed to come away with the win. They scored several of their points by progressing the ball on the fast break and working together as a team.

The two Years 7 and 8 teams now progress to the Canterbury Indoor Tournament on Monday 2 August.
