It has been another fantastic year for our school library. We have hosted several authors, both in person and virtually, had some wonderful family nights in the library, celebrated lots of special weeks with fun activities, and read lots and lots of books.

At a time where many primary schools do not have a library, a librarian or a budget for buying books we are incredibly lucky to have all of these things. We have a management team and a Board of Trustees who value a library and ensure that I am able to do my job to the best of my ability, with a budget that means we have a very well resourced library. I would like to take this opportunity to thank not only our management team and Board of Trustees but also you as parents of our school, who come along to our library events and support our Scholastic Book Club and Book Fairs. Your children notice your enthusiasm for books and reading and this helps them to have a love of books.

There is still time to sign up for Summer Reading so if your children would like to take some books for the holidays from our library please either fill out the permission slip or email me with your child's name and T group - zac.mccallum@halswell.school.nz. Please make sure children are signed up by the end of this week to ensure they have enough time to choose books.
