Aotearoa School Libraries Week

This week we’re celebrating the very first Aotearoa School Libraries Week. We are incredibly lucky to have a fantastic school library and I love being our School Librarian. Our library is hugely supported by our leadership team and our Board of Trustees who ensure we have a library space, a librarian and a budget to purchase lots of exciting books for your children to read.

We’ve got some extra activities and competitions happening in the library this week, including a poster competition highlighting what you love about our library.

Scholastic Book Fair - coming in Week 9

We’re excited to be able to run a Scholastic Book Fair later this term, from Monday 19 - Friday 23 September. Like the Book Club, the Book Fair is an opportunity to buy books for your children while supporting our school library.

I would love some more parent helpers for our Book Fair. If you would be able to help I’d love to hear from you. It would involve supervising a group of 3 or 4 children, either from 8:30-9:00am or 3:00-3:30pm on one day during the Book Fair. Please email me if you are interested - zac.mccallum@halswell.school.nz
