Tēnā koutou e te Whānau

I would like to start by thanking all of the parents and students who came along to Sunday's Working bee. We were delighted with the turnout and we managed to get a lot of big jobs completed including weeding the bund on Halswell Road and replacing the bark in the Years 5-8 playgrounds.

To round the morning off we christened our new BBQ area with a sausage sizzle organised by our wonderful PTA. The Working Bee truly reinforced the amazing community spirit we have at Halswell School Te Kura o Te Tauawa. Thank you for your support!

New Associate Principal

I'm delighted to be able to announce that Ms Tracey Mora has been appointed to the Associate Principal (Years 5-8) position starting in Term 1 next year. Tracey is currently the Associate Principal of Banks Avenue School where she has been for the past 6 years. Prior to that, I had the privilege of working with Tracey when she was the Associate Principal of Sumner School. Along with many years of classroom teaching, Tracey has also been the Principal of Omihi School and Deputy Principal of North Loburn School.

As you can imagine, Tracey brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in a broad range of contexts including leading school-wide curriculum design, digital technologies and PB4L. We are incredibly excited to have Tracey joining our Leadership Team and look forward to welcoming her to the Halswell whānau in the New Year.

Ngā mihi nui
