School Libraries Transform Campaign

School librarians around the country are getting in behind a new campaign to promote school libraries and school librarians. We are very lucky to have a wonderful library and a full-time librarian. I would love some feedback about how our library has helped your children. You can fill out this quick Google form if you would like to respond. All feedback will be kept anonymous but it will help to give us as a group some evidence of why school libraries are vital.

Book Week in Term 4

In Week 3 of Term 4 (Tuesday 27-Friday 30 October), we'll be celebrating Book Week across the whole school.  There will be lots of reading and book activities happening in the learning studios and in the library and some fun competitions.  The week will culminate in our Book Character Dress-Up Day on Friday 30 October.  With the school holidays coming up this is a great time for the children to start thinking about their costume.  It can be a generic character, like a princess or a pirate, or a specific character like Matilda or Percy Jackson.

As part of Book Week we will be running an Unusual Reading Spot photo competition. To enter children need to take a photo of themselves reading in an unusual spot and email it to me.  The school holidays are a great time to find somewhere unusual to read so they could take their photo in the holidays ready for the competition.

Scholastic Book Fair

The week after our Book Week is our Scholastic Book Fair (Monday 2 November- Friday 6 November).  This is a chance for you and your children to come and purchase some books, maybe even getting some early Christmas shopping sorted.  Our Book Fair will run (Level 1 dependant) between 8:30-9:00 and 3:00-3:30 from Monday to Friday.  There will be a fun Family Night at the Library during the Book Fair too.
