Book Fair

Thanks to everyone who supported our Book Fair, whether you stocked up on books for Christmas or just bought a pencil. This was our most successful Book Fair so far which means that we will have lots of rewards points to spend on fabulous new books for our school library. If your children missed out on a book that they really wanted to read please let me know as, in most cases, I can get this book for our library.

Summer Reading

In early December we will open up our Summer Reading registrations. For those children who are returning to Halswell School in 2021 and have no overdue books, they will get the chance to take up to 12 books from our library over the summer holidays.  We will have a Family Event on Wednesday 9 December, from 6:30-7:30pm for you to visit the library with your children and help them select their Summer Reading books. Keep an eye out for more details in the next newsletter.

Hell Pizza Wheels

Did you know that your children can get a free kid's pizza from Hell Pizza just for reading 7 books? 

Children can collect a Hell Pizza Wheel from the library up until 3 December. Once they have read 7 books just sign their pizza wheel for them and they bring it back to me in the library.  I will click their pizza wheel and then they just take it in to any Hell Pizza shop and exchange it for a free pizza. Completed pizza wheels can be redeemed until 31 January 2021.

You can sign off a book on the pizza wheel if your child has read the book themselves, you have read the book to them or they have listened to the story as an audiobook.
