Sports Day

Natasha Fraser —

At the end of Term 1, we had a whole school Sports Day. It was a fantastic day, celebrating house spirit and getting involved in fun physical activity. We hope to have many more days like this in the future.

The sun was shining and the wind blowing for our Term 1 Sports Day. We had two sessions throughout the day, one for Juniors and one for Seniors that had a range of activities. The aim of the day was to get our students outside, involved in fun physical activity that demonstrated teamwork with their peers. It was great to see them all dressed up in their house colours and celebrating the house spirit. Our PALS (physical activity leaders) are a group of students from Years 7 and 8 that led the different activities. This was a huge learning experience for these students and they did a great job explaining the activities and keeping all the other students engaged and involved. We had Year 6 students leading the junior groups, helping and encouraging them during activities and making sure that they were at the right place at the right time. Well done to all our senior leaders on the day.  I was so impressed by the school spirit, encouragement and engagement I saw from all the students on the day! Ka pai Halswell!
